The Peace Out Program is designed
for students entering high school who have faced challenges with conflict, who
have been referred to the Juvenile Hearing Board or the Police Department for
violence or other disciplinary actions. These children are considered the most
"at risk" youths in our community and in need of serious intervention to prevent
them from a downward spiral they may be headed on.
The curriculum includes: creating awareness and changing negative behaviors by
steering youth toward the prevention of violence. Topics are bullying, violence,
conflict resolution, stereotyping, anger and boundaries.
This is a week long program, generally held at Camp Davis in Charlestown, RI and
runs from Monday through Friday, from 9:00-4:00PM.
